New Youth Worker
Brioni McGrath became our new part-time Youth Worker, working 20 hours per week (Mon- Wed).
October Staff Changes
Jo Aberle returned from extended leave.
Lorrette Trocinski left Escare to pursue endeavours beyond Esperance.
Shelly Napijallo is the Family Support Worker and Natalie Symonds (former Youth Worker) became took on a newly appointed position of Family & Community Worker.
These two roles fulfil the objectives of our current agreement with the Department for Communities to deliver services to families while contributing to community capacity building activities.
Re-structure the Escare Financial Counselling Service
After the recent re-structure the Esperance Financial Counselling Service appointed Peta Horan as the full time Financial Counsellor.
Smith Family Ceases Community Partnerships
The Smith Family "Learning for Life" (LFL) Scholarships are no longer be offered in Esperance. The Smith Family have ceased their partnerships with all community partners (such as Escare) as part of their recent strategic plan.
Escare regrets this development. The families who are currently on Smith Family scholarships will continue to be sponsored and managed via Perth office.
ACE (Adult Community Education) Young Parents Group
Workshops were held in 2011 for Young Parents aged under 26 years, at the George Street Centre. These have been fun as well as an Adult Learning experience.
Fantastic Esperance Childrens Festival
The organising committee is meeting again to formulate the 2012 "Kids Fun Day Out".
Escare was successful in receiving a $4000.00 grant from the Shire via the recent round of Community Development Grants to assist with the day.
We are currently looking for a coordinator to take a lead role in the organisation of this great family bi-annual event.
