1990s: Escare’s Celebrates 21 Years (2003)

1991- 1993

Lynne Zera was the Family Support Officer for a short period, during 1991.

Tracey Daunt, pictured right, later took over as Family Support Officer, and during this period job shared the position with with Helen Fitzroy and Helen Crowhurst.

1991/1992...

During this period, ESCARE established several Childrens Services: After School Care, Vacation Care and the Occasional Care Service were originally located at the Walmsley Street Centre.

Sumfun – Was a Summer Activity for Primary School Children located at SunShine House.Four Year Old Kindy – was taken over from Esperance Community Kindergarten.

In 1993/1994...

Escare introduced a Furniture Exchange Program, to provide basic furniture to people in financial difficulty.

Des Keitel, pictured right, was an inaugural volunteer an has continued to be the ‘back bone’ to this programme, having volunteered now for 10 years!

In 1994...

Fran Kuchel, pictured right with Des Keitel, became the Family Support Officer.

In 1995...

Jo Aberle, became Family Support Officer. A number of years later the title became Family Support Coordinator.

In February 1996...

In February 1996, Escare moved into Lotteries House, a new building for community based services.

In the late 1990s, Escare increasingly began to secure new funding to extend its service to provide Parenting Education and more Individual Care.

Escare secured the premises for EOSHC , a purpose built children’s facility, originally built as as a Kindergarten, next to the Lutheran Church Hall. 

In 1998...

In February 1998, Dennis Cahill donated a much needed vehicle to the Furniture Exchange Program, that made life alot easier.
